Florida Road Races Hurricane Cancellation Policy

At Florida Road Races, the safety of our participants, volunteers, and staff is our top priority. While we always hope for clear skies on race day, we understand that hurricanes and severe weather can impact our events. This policy outlines the options available to registered participants in the unfortunate event that a race must be canceled due to a hurricane or other extreme weather conditions deemed unsafe by race officials and local authorities.

Policy Details:

In the event of a race cancellation due to a hurricane, registered participants will have the following choices:

1. Convert to a Virtual Race:

   • If the race is converted to a virtual event, participants will receive a 40% discount on their registration for any future Florida Road Races event. This discount can be applied to a race of their choice within a specified timeframe (to be announced with the cancellation notice).

2. Transfer to a Future Event:

   • Participants may choose to transfer their registration to any future Florida Road Races event. Upon successful transfer, they will receive a 25% discount on their registration for another Florida Road Races event. This allows participants to enjoy two events at a reduced rate.

3. Request a Refund:

• • Participants who prefer a refund of their registration fees may do so. A $10 refund processing fee will be deducted from the total registration amount. Refunds will be processed within 30 days of the cancellation announcement.

Important Considerations:

• Communication: All registered participants will be notified as quickly as possible via email and through our official website and social media channels if a race is canceled or modified due to a hurricane or other extreme weather event.

• Decision Timeline: Decisions regarding race cancellations due to hurricanes will be made as early as possible, typically 24-48 hours prior to the event, based on the latest weather forecasts and local emergency recommendations.

• One Option Per Participant: Each registered participant may choose only one of the above options.
